old crow cream ale

Smooth, Malty, Light & Refreshing

Brewer Notes:

This straw colored ale is as smooth as a tent-pole preacher on Sunday. It has a solid malt backbone and a smooth finish that is perfect for bending an elbow over a game of cards or good conversation. This is one of Pug's most sought after seasonal beers in the brewery and at Colorado liquor stores.

Pairs Well With:

  • Pugs Crab Cakes

  • Beet Salad

  • Pan Seared Salmon

Since the cream ale is considered a light craft beer it is best paired with light fare, such as salads, chicken, or fish. Also great with desserts.

History:

Cream Ales, spawned from the American light lager style, are brewed as an ale though are sometimes finished with a lager yeast or lager beer mixed in. Adjuncts such as corn or rice are used to lighten the body. It is not uncommon for smaller craft brewers to brew all malt Cream Ales. Low hop bittering and some hop aroma though some micros have given the style more of a hop character. Well carbonated and well attenuated.

IBU: 15 | ABV: 6.3%
